Senior Infrastructure Engineer (VmWare/EMC/Cloud)

I have a full time opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with one of our top tier investment banking clients in Midtown Manhattan. This is a cloud based environment, mostly Azure. I also need someone solid with VMWare and Dell EMS storage.

This is 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

The position requires accomplished expertise in the engineering, automation, and deployment of highly complex systems and services, including multi-cloud DR/BCP solutions, SaaS applications, modern end point management solutions, virtualization technologies, and developing standards and practices of the underlying technologies. Hands-on maintenance and support of production services and remediation and methodical troubleshooting of issues escalated by first and second-layer operational support teams.

Responsibilities

Leads cloud architecture development focusing on improving availability, performance, and business continuity of the production systems and services.

Defining integration strategies and methods and then planning them in accordance with established deadlines and time schedules.

Lead efforts to automate, standardize, and integrate systems, software, documentation, processes and various technologies to drive efficiencies and increase business value.

Leads multiple projects as a subject matter expert in support of Office 365, SAML, MDM, authentication, and other cloud-hosted systems and applications. Participates in product evaluations and works closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to support timely systems deployments.

Benchmarks, evaluates, and makes recommendations for the selection of software and hardware products.

Leverages 3rd party vendor relationships to assist with vetting architectures and designs and performing infrastructure assessments. Provides support for escalated service issues and guiding technology roadmaps.

Global enterprise level experience with VMware, Dell EMC storage arrays, and Active Directory.

Expert level experience designing and implementing modern endpoint management solutions.

Expertise in implement secure solutions in a regulated industry.

Working knowledge of MFA solutions, Certificate authorities, policy administration and defence-in-depth strategies

Advanced work experience with: Office 365 Suite, Azure AD, Azure Files, AWS, Azure DNS, Application Gateways, Cloud Networking, Okta, SSO, SAML, TCP/IP, DNS, Enterprise SaaS applications.

Experience designing and administering enterprise-wide solutions; working with and managing third-party vendors and consultant arrangements in support of projects.

Key performance measures will consider quality, complexity, and quantity of projects supported, level of interaction with operations management teams, staff training programs, management reporting, strategic planning focus, identifying new technologies that can be deployed, identification and adoption of best practices, level and quality of operational support provided, development and adherence to capital budgets, delivery of initiatives on time and teamwork demonstrated.

Qualifications:

Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server, EMC Storage, Active Directory, and physical hardware services in an enterprise deployment.

Experience engineering and administering virtualized servers on-prem and in cloud offerings.

Experience architecting and designing enterprise calls multi-cloud DR/BCP solutions.

Experience architecting and designing of SaaS and cloud hosted machines and systems experience.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Microsoft Certifications are a plus.
