Distribution Center Manager

Responsible for the management and logistics of the Distribution Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibility:

1. Directs the collection and disposition of donated and purchased materials.

2. Monitors daily truck activities against established time and mileage standards.

3. Ensures compliance with DOT laws and regulations.

4. Oversees the fleet maintenance of trucks.

5. Supervises agency shipping and receiving.

6. Establishes, implements, and evaluates operational policies and procedures for all salvage activities.

7. Maintains compliance with department and policies and procedures.

8. Identifies safety problems and implements safety procedures to ensure an accident-free, safety conscious workplace.

9. Consults with other Donated Goods Managers regarding quality and volume of incoming goods in order to maintain efficient flow of work.

10. Initiates recruitment efforts, interviews, and final hiring reviews of all staff.

11. Recommends, initiates, and reviews personnel actions, such as hiring, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and discharges.

BS Degree or equivalent education and experience. College Degree acceptable with 3-5 years management experience in the transportation environment. Work under specific instructions. Knowledge of DOT regulations. Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable. Computer literate.
