MBA Energy & Industrial, LLC located in Magnolia, Texas is immediately hiring an experienced Construction Scheduler to work with our management to ensure overall schedules are on track and hitting deadlines of industrial and commercial building construction throughout the United States.
The Scheduler will work with all aspects of the company to:
Prepare schedules for projects of all sizes
Provide basic schedules to be included with estimates
Track a master schedule for all jobs to allow management to make real-time asset allocation decisions
Mentor and train less experienced co-workers and operations employees to assist in tracking progress
Key Role Responsibilities
On a regular basis, prepares, builds and updates project schedules collaboratively with the project team.
Performs schedule reviews to ensure effective and efficient best practices for scheduling are utilized. Diplomatically communicates review comments to the project team and management as appropriate.
Participates in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the creation of proposal schedules, baseline schedule and ongoing schedule updates.
Utilizes working knowledge of scheduling software.
Assists with and performs training for MBA operations.
May attend project related meetings and/or jobsite-specific meetings where emphasis on schedule is discussed.
Provides planning and scheduling support to operations, marketing and other departments as needed.
Understands that market and regional information are a part of project schedules such as: seasonal weather patterns, materials markets, labor forces and other factors that may impact each project schedule.
Participates in pursuit opportunities with business development and the project team.
Develops and maintains a library of standard project schedule templates for internal use as a starting point.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in MS Office
Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications
Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management regarding commercial and industrial construction project types and delivery methods
Experience in scheduling design-build jobs and how to minimize the schedule when doing so
Knowledge of scheduling software and implementation
Knowledge of most types of construction projects and delivery methods
Knowledge of work activity sequencing, activity durations, scheduling concepts and best practices, with the ability to communicate opportunities for improvement
Proficiency in scheduling software
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with team members
Ability to effectively collaborate as a team, both internally and externally
Ability to keep a clean and efficient master schedule for management
Education
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
5+ years planning and scheduling experience (Preferred)
Experience working on design-build construction projects (Preferred)
Experience working as, or with, an EPC on projects (Preferred)
Working Environment
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Proficiency at Corn Hole is a plus
