SkillBridge Summary:

The SI&T Mission Directorate is seeking a Lab Manager to be part of the Systems Engineering Lateral Test team. The Lab Manager will perform engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.

Duties include coordination and execution of task in RI&S engineering laboratories. Responsibilities include maintaining and standardizing lab infrastructure to meet program requirements. Responsibilities also include supporting all audits including but not limited to: AS 9100/ISO 9001, DCMA and Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS). The Lab Manager shall ensure lab personnel operate to standard lab run rules and applicable RI&S policies within the lab. Ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality controls, 6S, FOD/FOE, Equipment Calibration, Property, ESD, Housekeeping, Shelf-life, Preventative Maintenance, and Ergonomics. This position requires the ability to manage logistics of various RI&S competing contract requirements.

The idea SkillBridge Candidate will possess the following:

4+ years of experience working within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment, military experience is desirable.

Knowledgeable in lab safety and 6S (Housekeeping)

Experience with the Quality processes regarding test equipment calibration requirements and AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits.

Demonstrated leadership, organization, and able to direct the work of others.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work well with others and on teams.

Data analysis and troubleshooting skills.

U.S. Citizenship

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree but will consider a candidate without a degree with the required skills and experience.

SkillBridge Eligibility overview:

To be eligible for this SkillBridge Fellowship you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be eligible to participate in Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29.

• Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military.

• Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.

• Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.

• Must be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to the job location.
