Aurora Postgres Database Administrator

Location: California (remote)

Pay Rate: $87.59/hr.

6-month assignment (potential to extend)

Our leading ride share client is looking for a Postgres database administrator that will ensure reliability, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness of Aurora Postgres databases running on AWS infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Safeguarding the stability and reliability of company’s payment transaction database.

Develop in-depth understanding of database design for Company’s payment transactions.

Partner with Eng on current database partition/query design and performance optimization Develop strategy and tooling for monitoring database performance.

Identify and enforce missing best practices around connection management, VACUUM frequency, permissions, and others as identified.

Develop database back-up and recovery process Automate TxnHub partition maintenance (whatever is left if any)

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology, Computer Engineering, or related field experience is required.

7+ years of Postgres administration experience. Deep experience administering petabytes-scale databases with partitioned tables

7+ years of experience with AWS / Cloud tech 3+ years’ experience with Python, SQL, or Java operating systems and cloud computing experience is beneficial.
