Job Title: Dean of Continuing Education

Overview: As the Dean of Continuing Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the strategic vision for continuing education programs within our client's institution. You will lead a small team dedicated to providing accessible, innovative, and high-quality educational opportunities for adult learners seeking to advance their careers, acquire new skills, or pursue personal enrichment. This position requires a dynamic leader with a passion for lifelong learning, a keen understanding of adult education trends, and a commitment to fostering inclusive and diverse learning environments.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and articulate a strategic vision for the continuing education division aligned with the institution's mission and goals.

Identify emerging trends and opportunities in adult education and continuing professional development.

Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and external partners to design and implement new programs that meet the evolving needs of adult learners.

Program Development and Management:

Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education programs and courses across various disciplines and formats (e.g., online, hybrid, in-person).

Ensure programs adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation criteria.

Monitor program enrollment, student satisfaction, and other key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.

Student Support and Engagement:

Champion student success by fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with student services departments to provide comprehensive support services tailored to the needs of adult learners.

Implement strategies to enhance student recruitment, retention, and completion rates.

Faculty and Staff Development:

Recruit, train, and supervise a diverse team of instructors, program coordinators, and administrative staff.

Provide ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and instructional quality.

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence among faculty and staff.

Partnership Development:

Cultivate strategic partnerships with industry leaders, professional associations, community organizations, and other educational institutions to expand program offerings and enhance student outcomes.

Negotiate agreements and contracts with external partners to support program delivery and revenue generation.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage the continuing education division's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities.

Identify opportunities for revenue growth through program expansion, fee structures, and alternative funding sources.

Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures as needed.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in education, adult learning, higher education administration, or a related field (doctorate preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in continuing education, adult learning, or professional development.

Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and best practices in program development and delivery.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Experience managing budgets, allocating resources, and optimizing financial performance.

Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
