Direct Support Professional DSP

Job Description

The Direct Support Personnel (DSP) 1 will provide wide-ranging care for individuals with developmental disabilities (DD) in Lucas Lodge Residential Program(s). First and foremost, it is to be understood that the vast majority of DD Individuals lack the physical dexterity and/or cognitive ability to independently take care of their personal needs as it relates to overall hygiene issues to include toileting, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene and activities of daily living (ADL). Under the general supervision of the DSP 3 / Team Leader or other assigned personnel, the DSP 1 will provide full or partial supports and guidance for individuals, oversee physical care, assist in developing acceptable habits and attitudes, manage individual behaviors, implement the goals and objectives of Individuals’ Service Plans, escort individuals as directed to training and community activities, ensure the individual’s daily needs are appropriately met, ensure the safety well-being of individuals, assist in maintaining a clean and safe physical environment. The DSP 1 is mandated to follow Lucas Lodge Policies and Procedures and the policies of other regulatory authorities governing providers of services to DD Individuals.Company Description
