Length: Two Semester Rotation

Hours: 40 hours a week

Shift: Day

Internship Goals:

Conduct regular audits of work areas, equipment, and processes to identify hazards - recommend corrective actions

Update and create Job Safety Analysis via BasicSafe

Collaborate with safety coordinator to develop risk mitigation strategies

Help facilitate the online safety training platform via Vector Solutions - Convergence

Help facilitate hands on safety training sessions

Assist with pre-shift meeting safety discussions

Assist in investigating workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses

Assist with Root Cause Problem Solving Meetings (RCPS)

Assist with leading Monthly Safety Committee Meetings

Assist with policy updates and program reform

Lead safety projects with the assistance of the Safety Coordinator

Perform annual safety program performance audits

Assist with LOTO document audits and upkeep

Keep mill up to date with compliance calendar

Requirements:

Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related majors

Basic understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Standards

Candidate must be willing to relocate to be within driving distance of the facility

Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
