Position: Buyer

Location: Oakville, ON

Salary: $70,000 Per Year

Industry: Manufacturing / Machining / Welding / Assembly / Materials

Employment Term: Full Time / Permanent

Roles & Responsibilities:

Source and procure materials, components, and services required for production in accordance with company policies and procedures

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at competitive prices

Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings

Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory control processes to minimize excess inventory and stockouts

Identify potential suppliers and conduct supplier assessments to assess capabilities and sustainability for partnership

Stay informed on industry trends, industry developments, and regulatory requirements that may impact procurement strategies

Participate in cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement by maintaining KPI metrics

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or Post Secondary education in Supply Chain and Operations or equivalent

5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management working as a Buyer/ Planner in a manufacturing setting

Experience with ERP systems is required

Exceptional negotiation and computer skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
