Plastics extrusion company is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of mechanical systems, apparatus, mechanical and basic electrical components of machinery, equipment, and building. Hours are 1st shift Monday - Friday. Salary depends on experience.
Responsibilities:
-Plan, layout, install, and repair a wide variety of complex mechanical electrical equipment, including automatic machine and process controls
-Repair mechanical equipment while diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus and inspecting and testing equipment
-Perform work in all maintenance categories as need
-Maintain building mechanical and basic electrical preventive maintenance and repairs
-Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as needed
-Follow and participate in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment
-Promote worker safety
-Ensure quality products and processes are maintained
-Actively participates in the continuous improvement process (CIP)
Qualifications:
-Ability to read meters, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other measuring instruments
-Basic computer skills
-Ability to work efficiently alone as well as with a team without supervision
-3-5 years of industrial experience (mechanical and electrical) or equivalent
-Demonstrated experience on 3-phase electricity, PLC, control wiring, and troubleshooting
-Ability to work overtime and occasional work weekend as needed
-Good communication skills
-Previous related experience or technical school degree with emphasis on mechanical and basic electrical components
-High school diploma or GED certification
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office
-Experience with CMMS
-Knowledge and experience with polymer extrusion is a plus
-Bilingual Spanish is a plus
-Ability to speak/understand English fluently
