The Position The City of Maple Grove is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as a Lil Sports Assistant.

In this role, you will enjoy the beautiful Minnesota summers and teach kids all about sports!

You will assist instructors in the operations of the Lil Sports (T-ball and soccer) programs and help create a fun and safe environment for our participants.

Hours Mid June - Early August, Mondays-Thurs from 4:00-7:00 PM * This position is open until filled* * Assist with lesson planning for each class taught, including T-ball & Soccer for youth ages 4-5.

* Be familiar with emergency and accident procedures, and know what to do if an incident occurs.

* Work with individuals in a group setting and individually as needed on basic t-ball & soccer skills.

* Keep informed and abreast of new trends, techniques, and procedures.

* Communicate program changes when necessary to participants.

* Perform other related duties as requested by the Supervisor.

Ability to: * Work independently.

* Communicate well with the public.

Need to have: * Must be 15 years of age.

Nice to have: * Involvement as a participant in a higher-level instructional baseball/softball and/or soccer program or participation in high school program for at least two years.

* General knowledge of the Parks and Recreation program and its philosophy
