Accountant II

What You'll Do:

Review and analyze monthly freight costs to ensure the general ledger is accurate and that appropriate accruals are recorded

Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations

Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for management, including variance analysis and explanations

Assist management in preparing schedules and providing support for quarterly and annual internal and external audit requests

Develop, implement, and maintain financial systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley

Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; respond to financial questions and/or concerns to meet business needs.

Assist with periodic freight/transportation projects

Perform various month-end close accounting duties related to private fleet, common carrier, dedicated carrier and rail

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in accounting

Knowledgeable of US GAAP

Two or more years of accounting experience

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong verbal and written skills

Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines

Flexibility to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment

Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel such as pivot tables and advanced formulas

Proficiency with SAP is preferred
