Voice Provisioning Engineer

Role Summary:

Ucomm Provisioning team (PNOC) is responsible for the logical provisioning of Voice and Video services across a pan-European footprint.

Ucomm PNOC acts as a Service Delivery for Voice Serivces and works closely with Project Management, Engineering and Operations teams to ensure the efficient, cost-effective delivery of high-quality Voice and Video services to external and internal customers.

Internal Departments they will interact with:

Sales Engineering, SD teams

Main Responsibilities:

• Implementation, test and turn up of customer Voice and Video services in cooperation with the customer and field services teams.

• Technical validation of new customer Voice orders.

• Technical point of contact for Service Delivery, Sales Engineering, Project Management teams for issues related to Voice and Video service design, implementation, test and turn up.

• Pro-active escalation, follow-through and liaison with appropriate departments to resolve technical issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality. Creation of contingency plans to minimise such risks, timescales or quality. Creation of contingency plans to minimise such risks.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Technical knowledge of some or all of the following services: TDM voice, carrier pre-select, indirect access, IP.

• Good degree of understanding of VoIP protocols SIP, H.323.

• Good understating on TDM protocols: SS7/ISUP, ISDN/Q.931.

• Sonus, Genband and Cisco experience would be a distinct advantage.

• Experience in troubleshooting VoIP protocols.

• Linux/Unix skills are advantage.

• At least two years background in managing/provision/troubleshooting VoIP services.

• General knowledge of telecom industry and standards

• Excellent English language skills a must, other languages an advantage.
