Overview:
This position is for a Nuclear Test Operations Electrical (NTO-E) Production Radiological Controls (PRC) General Foreman on 2nd Shift.
The General Foreman will supervise two to four NTO Operations Supervisors and ten to fifteen NTO Electrical Technicians and has responsibility for the daily operation and maintenance of NTO-E at the EB Shipyard and at SUBASE-NLON.
This position will be expected to lead personnel development and continuous improvement activities, coordinate manning and scheduling of nuclear work, and will assist the NTO-E Project Manager in managing associated safety, quality, cost, and budget goals.
Extensive interfacing with Shift Test Engineers, Electrical Test Engineers, and Ship’s Force involving reactor plant testing is required along with communication and interaction with various Operations and Engineering Organizations.
The applicant must be medically able and willing to qualify as a Production Radiological Control Supervisor (PRCS) to obtain and maintain dosimetry and supervise nuclear work.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma / GED or equivalent
Minimum 5 years Nuclear Operations or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience
Previous supervisory experience
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree
Nuclear Test Operations, Nuclear Test, or Nuclear Engineering experience
Previously or currently qualified as a Production Radiological Control Supervisor (PRCS)
Working knowledge of the Corporate Nuclear Power Manual requirements
