Summary:

This opportunity is available at all of our MyMichigan Health locations!

This position performs tasks of varying complexity. These include: Coordination, pick-up, and delivery of patient care equipment through anticipation of need and upon request of technical staff. Processing and performing routine equipment inspection, documentation and record keeping to maintain departmental asset and RFID tracking information, assisting with parts and depot repair ordering, receipt, delivery and database maintenance, assisting with minor repair and preventative maintenance activities, and performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

(50%)* Coordinates, retrieves, cleans, inspects, and delivers patient care equipment.

(40%)* Assists with parts and depot repair ordering, receipt, delivery. Documents and keeps records to maintain departmental asset and RFID tracking databases.

(10%)* Performs minor repair and preventative maintenance on patient care equipment.

Certifications and Licensures:

DMVCHECK: DMV Record CheckEquivalent Experience: Must have a valid drivers license upon hire or transfer into position.

Required Education:

Education: High School Diploma or GEDEquivalent Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of electronics required. Associates degree in business-related field or equivalent level of education and experience preferred.

Other Information:

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with RFID battery maintenance, database maintenance, and assembly of new equipment.

Completes miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Continuing education, attend in-services on new equipment.

Attends departmental staff in-services/meetings and adheres to policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS:

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to prioritize daily workflow.

Interpersonal skills needed to communication successfully with individual and groups in the medical center, including peers, management and customers.

Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.

Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.

Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.

Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).

Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.

Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.

Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10 lbs.
