The Senior Analyst - Ethics and Compliance holds accountability for regulatory monitoring, compliance obligation assessment, and facilitation of mitigation and management strategies to ensure consistent achievement of, and ongoing compliance with, applicable legal and regulatory obligations. The Senior Analyst will achieve success by effectively leveraging a combination of education, subject matter expertise and direct experience, along with a fundamental understanding of the restaurant industry and applicable regulatory requirements, exceptional research skills, and the ability to communicate and facilitate effectively with various stakeholders across all business functions.

Responsibilities:

Monitor local, State and Federal government and agency communications, lobbying and legislative activity, legal decisions, trade and industry publications, and media reporting to identify material legal and regulatory obligations relevant to the Company, as well as potential changes in existing legal or regulatory requirements.

Develop and leverage a network of internal and external counsel, industry counterparts, and technical subject matter experts (SME), to conduct ongoing monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of material legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations. Develop and leverage a network of professional counterparts and technical SMEs for purposes of benchmarking, interpretation of, and response to, potential legal and regulatory obligations, as well as awareness of industry leading, and best practices for achieving and ensuring compliance.

Partner effectively with Corporate Communications and Public Affairs ensuring ongoing awareness of relevant legal, regulatory, or legislative proposals, developments, or changes. Communicate effectively with internal counsel and relevant functional leaders to ensure awareness and comprehension of relevant compliance obligations.

Develop and maintain a registry of material regulatory compliance obligations. Identify functional areas within the Company in which material compliance obligations are applicable and partner with functional leadership to identify accountable and responsible compliance obligation owner(s), subject matter expert(s), and internal legal counsel associated with each material obligation. Lead and facilitate assessment of each material compliance obligation, including the possibility of non-compliance and resulting magnitude of impact on a financial, strategic, technology, privacy, operational, legal, and brand/reputational basis.Develop and refine a comprehensive profile associated with each material compliance obligation, including but not limited to definition of the obligation, the manner in which the obligation applies to the Company, reflection of the application of controls and risk treatment strategies including mitigation, transfer, acceptance or avoidance, residual uncertainty and opportunities to improve assurance, as well as contingencies and response planning associated with a determination of noncompliance.

Consult with material compliance obligation owners and technical subject matter experts to review and assess the presence and effectiveness of controls and mitigation strategies, as well any deficiencies or vulnerabilities that may require further treatment. In partnership with the Enterprise Governance program, ensure effective implementation and consistent utilization of policies, procedures, and processes for purposes of risk mitigation.

Complete a periodic Compliance Obligation Risk Assessment ensuring a consistent basis for relative assessment, quantification of residual risk, and allocation of program resources and capabilities in proportion to perceived deficiencies, opportunities for improvement, and likelihood and impact of non-compliance.

Assist in developing and delivering compliance training programs for employees to raise awareness and understanding of compliance obligations and the way fulfillment of those obligations is achieved and maintained.Participate in internal and external compliance control, policy, and process reviews, providing results to compliance obligation owners for remediation, action, and planning.

Utilize project management competencies to facilitate cross-functional project teams and lead implementation of complex, enterprise-level ethics, and compliance initiatives. Track and monitor project status and develop reporting to effectively communicate project status, challenges, opportunities, and resource needs.

Monitor the Ethics Helpline and related processes, ensuring that incidents are appropriately defined, assigned, investigated, and resolved in accordance with internal policies and procedures. Oversee development and maturation of the Ethics Helpline communications, promotion, and training. Develop and refine Incident Management reporting capabilities providing appropriate data visualization and identification of relevant trends to senior management and Board committees as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field preferred, however not required. A master's degree, juris doctorate, or professional certification in compliance (e.g., CRCM, CAMS, CCEP, LEPC) would be helpful, but not required.

Two years of professional experience in Ethics, Compliance, legal or regulatory research or affairs, or equivalent practical experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.

Strong understanding of relevant legal and regulatory obligations associated with the service sector and restaurant industry, including laws and regulations, such as FCPA, AML, KYC, GDPR, and industry-specific regulations.

Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess compliance risks.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-motivation, as well as the ability to work autonomously, with limited direction, supervision, or instruction.

Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with a variety of cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in using compliance software such as Navex, OneTrust, Riskonnect, and supporting applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ethical and professional conduct, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and integrity.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. * The target annual bonus for this role is 10% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
