This is a hybrid role in the Malvern, PA office.

CubeSmart is currently seeking a Manager, Web Development to join the Information Technology team at our corporate office in Malvern, PA. The Manager, Web Development will be responsible for the technical oversight and management of all CubeSmart digital web properties across the portfolio, including our customer-facing website, online rental application, mobile app and others. Working in collaboration with the Marketing organization and Product Management team, the leader will partner on strategy and standards for all digital assets including maintaining, enhancing, and innovating with a customer-first focus in mind.

Responsibilities:

This leader will adopt an agile yet stable and secure approach to web and mobile development, and will oversee all design, development, and delivery activities, while partnering closely with various cross-functional departments and the larger IT organization.

The leader is expected to have deep experience in building and maintaining highly complex web sites, a strong technical background in modern technologies and Martech stacks, and a history of leveraging best practices in the areas of web development, open-source tech solutions, and agile methodologies.

The leader must have demonstrable people-management experience, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This role is expected to apply leading edge practices to solve business challenges and develop a culture of high performance, urgency, and accountability. Like all CubeSmart leaders, this position requires an individual willing to “roll up their sleeves” and personally help drive projects to completion. This leadership position serves as a key resource to the Sr. Director of IT Services.

Responsibilities include:

Manage and mentor a team of web/mobile professionals in an agile, yet safe/secure environment, fostering a culture that values quality, high performance, and eager cross-functional collaboration.

Implement and refine software development tools, technology, and development methodologies.

Collaborate with Product Management and business stakeholders to plan, execute, and deploy projects by ensuring that teams have appropriate technical specifications, clear and concise direction, and resources to deliver projects effectively and on target.

Collaborate and provide guidance to both digital creative teams and back-end developers to improve website usability and overall customer experience.

Manage relationship with Project Management, IT Infrastructure and Application Development teams to ensure product enhancements are integrated into backend systems per requirements and delivered on schedule and within budget.

Lead and play a leadership role in PI and sprint and planning meetings to ensure that the team understands their objectives and is committed to completing their work on an agreed-upon timeline.

Execute on supporting key business systems and continuous improvement of the existing software applications, and influence change to improve performance and time to market.

Manage strategy on website architecture and overall site structure within the context of the Content Management System; manage web development projects, resources, and teams.

Lead research efforts into current and emerging Web technologies in support of web development efforts.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required Qualifications (including Programs/systems experience)

Bachelor’ Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent related technical field

At least 8-10 years’ experience leading and supporting digital technology platforms, including web content management and eCommerce systems.

Proven experience and track record in designing and overseeing responsive, scalable, high-performing, and flexible integrated web site solutions.

Proven experience in managing web and eCommerce solutions in a retail customer-focused environment and incorporating Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Management components into those solutions.

Experience with DevOps, modern environments, and guiding agile teams.

Experience with PHP/HTML5 and other web development frameworks, as well as .NET.

Experience in developing secure websites and secure development practices.

Experience and knowledge of analytics integration, preferably Adobe Analytics.

Experience working within a Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery process and managing deployment pipelines in a cloud environment.

Experience using a project management/ticketing tool such as JIRA, Azure DevOps.

Significant experience developing teams and building technical bench strength.

Experience building roadmaps and adopting principles in the design, development, and delivery of solutions.

Experience with cloud computing, middleware, and ETL tools.
