Visual Designer

Overview:

Acuity is looking for a talented visual designer to provide creative services across the company. This role demands a versatile design skill set, with a strong emphasis on layout design, desktop publishing, videography, and graphic design skills for branding and marketing. Experience with WordPress themes is a plus. The position reports to the Marketing Manager and offers a dynamic work environment where learning and growth are encouraged.

Responsibilities:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

With support from outside contractors, lead full life-cycle video support including planning, storyboarding, recording, editing, implementing visuals, and finalization.

Design and layout corporate materials such as fact sheets, infographics, white papers, case studies, quarterly newsletters, reports, and briefings.

Provide planning, advisory, visual design, and branding support for company events, sponsorships, social media, and other promotional materials.

Manage and update graphic resource hubs on SharePoint.

Create digital visuals for emails and the website, including everything from illustrated graphics to photo enhancement.

Provide additional design services as needed, such as PowerPoint presentation graphic support.

Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field (master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience).

4+ years of experience with an in-house creative team.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro), Mac applications (Keynote, iMovie), and Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word).

Additional Requirements:

Ability to work from office headquarters in Reston, VA, twice a week for team collaboration and on-site video/photo shoots.

Digital portfolio showcasing a wide range of visual design work.

Citizenship Requirement:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
