POSITION SUMMARY:

The Art Director, Photography plays a pivotal role in collaborating with the Senior Director, Creative and Brand, and the Creative Director to shape the brand's visual identity by elevating all photographic work. This individual is responsible for both conceptualizing and executing a wide range of photographic needs, spanning editorial and e-commerce realms. Overseeing all aspects of pre-and post-production, the Art Director will collaborate closely with the Graphic Design and Retouching teams to ensure the delivery of imagery suitable for digital and print design applications. Working in tandem with the Production Team, they will secure samples, crews, locations, and more for seamless shoot coordination. The ideal candidate for this role possesses agility, creativity, responsiveness, and organizational prowess. Additionally, the Art Director will take on the role of mentoring and guiding the Associate Art Director, Photography.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Collaborate with brand merchant teams to collect insights on upcoming collections.

· Enhance and optimize photographic workflows through cross-functional collaboration.

· Ensure timely handover of images to the Retouching Team.

· Conceptualize and execute E-commerce and Editorial Photography, encompassing both still life and on-figure shoots.

· Coordinate with Sample Coordinator to ensure timely receipt and readiness of samples for upcoming shoots.

· Provide comprehensive markups post-shoot for efficient handoff to the retouching team.

· Scout and recruit new talent, including photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, models, and more.

· Work closely with the Creative Director and Senior Director to align all concepts with brand standards.

· Support Production as needed, managing crew communication and shoot requirements within budget constraints.

· Oversee and develop Associate Art Director and ensure they are set up for success.

· Build concept decks to present back to the Creative teams and brief crews before shoots.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in photography or graphic design

· 5+ years of photo art direction experience required

· Proficient in CaptureOne, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite

· Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative: a “can-do” attitude

· Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for effective interaction with all levels of company management

· Knowledge and/or familiarity with styling, retouching and production
