Animal Hospital at Lakewood Ranch is now hiring for a full-time veterinary assistant to join our team!
Our focus is on being a place of comfort for our clients and pets, in sickness and in health. You will have an open door for growth opportunities ranging from becoming a veterinary technician, specialty medicine, and future management positions!
Schedule is 4 days a week and every other Saturday.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Caring for our boarding animals.
Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep.
Patient handling and restraint.
Medication administration & filling prescriptions.
Assisting our staff and our Veterinarian as needed.
Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience.
Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It’s okay if you talk to animals, too!)
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds.
Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases.
