Laser Tracker Specialist/ Metrologist

We are currently seeking a Laser Tracker Specialist/ Metrologist to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. The role will play a crucial role in operating laser trackers to execute metrology projects for our clients mainly in the LA and eastern TX area, but also in-house at our Baton Rouge Machine Works facility.

This position will involve some travel, mostly local (on occasion multiday, overnight trips). Schedule will vary week to week, but travel on average will be 30-50%. (We anticipate travel will be higher during initial training phase.)

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Lecia or Faro laser trackers

Gathering alignment and/or dimensional data using precision laser metrology instruments

Reviewing and confirming job scope with facility manager or customer

Observing and reporting machine and equipment conditions and problems

Making adjustment recommendations

Generating Technical Service Reports including comprehensive 3D models

Working with Account Manager in order to generate proposals for customers

Training personnel in the use of precision metrology instruments, report generation, inspection and alignment techniques, and all other machine alignment skillsRequirements:

Experience operating a laser tracker (Leica, Faro, API etc.) in an industrial environment

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex metrology issues and propose effective solutions

Mechanical aptitude

Understanding of mathematical principles

Self-starter with strong work ethic

Strong communication and leadership abilities

Proficient in MS Windows and all common MS Office applications

Some experience with at least one of the following applications: Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, BuildIT, Spatial Analyzer, CAM2 or Polyworks
