Position: Quality Technician 1

Department: Quality

Location: Williams Site, 20260 Williams, OR, 97544

Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00/ hr plus a $2.00/hr shift differential

Summary: This position is responsible for performing quality checks at various stages of the production process and assisting with continual process improvement by ensuring conformance to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) throughout the facility. This person willingly assists with special projects as assigned, thereby contributing to the overall successful operation and profitable growth of the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties may be assigned:

Accurately prepare & complete reports for the Quality Management Team with keen attention to detail.

Perform Final Quality inspections of Finished Goods.

Perform incoming label review and release.

Provide support to the Microbiology Laboratory.

Perform allergen checks after each allergen production.

Perform routine facility monitoring and inspection of ingredients, components, and supplies.

Submit Quality-related inventory transfer requests.

Process reserve samples & return sales orders.

Assist with the implementation of the Quality Hold process.

Work with the Quality department to place orders for supplies as needed.

Assist in maintaining the proper filing of documentation.

Assist with pest control inspection and documentation.

Occasional transport of samples to the water lab.

Issue items to the R&D team as requested.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Associate degree in a related field; and/or experience.

Related experience and/or training in a quality and/or laboratory setting and continuous process improvement techniques

Technical Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Proficient in project management systems and consumer insight platforms

Certificate and Licenses:

Current valid Driver’s License

Qualifications & Requirements:

Maintain working knowledge of applicable certification bodies and/or regulatory compliance requirements.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge of current trends, practices and developments in the profession.

Regularly lead and/or assist others with projects as assigned on process improvement with the Quality Management Team.

Excellent research, troubleshooting, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects to completion.

Well organized, with the ability to set priorities and meet reasonable deadlines.

Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety rules, maintaining a good safety attitude, and participating in all required safety training or meetings.

Assist with efficient team operation and continuous process improvement, by participating actively in all team and departmental meetings.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to solve practical problems.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts, and to understand communications from others. Ability to maintain composure, listen and respond appropriately.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, botanical guides, plant identification manuals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers. Strong attention to detail, solid knowledge of grammar and punctuation, and ability to proofread accurately and consistently.
