Job Description

The Facilities Technician assists with the supervision responsibility for a safe environment with quality maintenance of all campus buildings, grounds, equipment and vehicles.

Department: Maintenance

Status/Schedule: Full Time; some weekends and on-call may be required.

Shift: Day shift, primarily Monday - Friday

Location: Owensboro, KY

All applicants:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, per agency and insurance requirements.

A well-qualified applicant will :

Have experience with general facilities maintenance.

Possess general carpentry skills.

Be capable of performing basic maintenance functions including:

Electrical - fixture installation, bulb changes, install receptacles/switches, wiring and conduit installation & general troubleshooting.

Plumbing - fixture installation and repairs, basic piping for water/gas lines & general troubleshooting.

HVAC - assist with unit cleaning, duct cleaning/repairs/installation, filter changes & general troubleshooting.

Be capable of performing basic grounds work including:

Operation of zero-turn lawnmowers, grass trimmers, and other equipment and machinery.

Proficiency in reading and following written and verbal instructions in order to complete any required paperwork/documentation.Job Description (not inclusive of all duties and responsibilities):

Assists with the preventative maintenance, cleanliness, order, upkeep and timely repairs on equipment, buildings, vehicles and grounds.

Accountable for implementation of health and safety standards in order to be in compliance with all external-monitoring agencies.

Inventory control of equipment, tools, and supplies.

Assists with the regular cleaning and organization of all boiler rooms, furnace rooms, maintenance buildings and storage areas.

Reports to and keeps the Facilities Coordinator informed of issues encountered.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
