Vegetable Production Manager

Our client is seeking a Vegetable Production Manager to join their team, based in East London.

Minimum Requirements:-

Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field preferred

Practical knowledge gained through experience is equally valued

Minimum 5-10 years' of hands-on experience in vegetable production

Proficiency in managing all aspects of crop production, including planting, irrigation, pest control and harvesting

Plant Biology / Crop Experience - in depth understanding of growth requirements and best practices

Equipment / Machinery - optimisation with irrigation equipment, calibrations, flow rates, dose rates and problem solving

Planning and Scheduling - ability to create schedules, manage crop tasks and optimise resource allocation

Pest and Disease Management - familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) techniques

Team Leadership / Team Player - experience in supervising farm workers, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient operations

Quality Control - commitment to maintaining high quality produce

Budgeting and Cost Management - ability to manage expenses related to seed, fertilizers, labour and equipment

Adaptability - willingness to stay updated on industry trends and adopt new technologies

Analytics / Research / Reporting - ability to understand numbers, trends and present findings in reports
