POSITION SUMMARY: It is the primary responsibility of the Pool Attendant to ensure the overall satisfaction and safety of all Plaza pool guests. The Pool attendant must be able to provide outstanding service to guests and be able to respond quickly and efficiently in any given situation. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policy, practices and procedures.

Top 5 Specific Job Functions:

Provide guest safety by watching over water and deck area, responding to emergency situations as needed and quickly securing deck in inclement weather situations

Provide excellent customer service by answering guests' inquiries, being knowledgeable of all Plaza events and amenities all while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor

Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool deck and retail space including straightening and stacking chairs, collecting soiled towels and trash, moving chairs, providing clean towels, restocking water station and restocking retail space

Utilize selling skills to sell Cabanas and day beds while keeping organized and detailed notes in reservations log in accordance with the outlined pricing structure

Following Cash handling procedures (including counting the cash, charges, comps, and completing settlement paperwork as required by the property)

Other Specific Job Functions:

Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service

Maintain attentiveness to the environment in the pool facility to ensure guest enjoyment and safety

Participate in pool safety programs, training, and documentation to ensure the overall safety of guests in the pool area

Respond to and resolve guest in a timely manner and creatively solve problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties

Be knowledgeable of Department and Hotel goals

Own all requests and complaints; resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guest’s satisfaction

Be knowledgeable of Hotel information to answer guest inquiries

Display proper cash handling procedures including accepting payment and counting proper change for all items

Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck and retail space throughout the entire day

Perform all other job-related duties as requested.

Requirements:

REQUIRED:

At least 6 months of cash handling experience

Basic math and currency counting knowledge

Ability to work and multitask in a fast pace environment

High School diploma or equivalent

Excellent customer service skills

Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

Professional appearance and demeanor

Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms

Must be able to work in cases of extreme temperatures

Must be able to lift and pull up to 50-75 pounds

Preferred:

Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training

Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

High School diploma or equivalent
