Exalt Health, an acute rehabilitation hospital, provides an intensive rehabilitation program, and admitted patients must be able to tolerate three hours of intense rehabilitation services per day. Focused on caring for patients with complex rehabilitative needs such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, head trauma, medically debilitation conditions, neurological disorders, cardio-pulmonary amputations, orthopedic injuries, and multiple major traumas.

Position Summary

The Quality Director is responsible for spearheading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive quality and patient safety program throughout our inpatient rehabilitation hospital network. In this role, you will drive a culture of excellence, ensuring our delivery of the highest standards of patient care across all our facilities in Texas. This position demands strong leadership, data analysis skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Design and implement a system-wide quality management framework, aligning with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Performance Monitoring: Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of key quality metrics and patient outcome data. Identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and develop targeted interventions.

Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance clinical quality, patient safety, and process efficiency across all rehabilitation facilities. Implement evidence-based best practices and drive innovation in quality improvement endeavors.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., The Joint Commission) related to quality management and patient safety.

Education and Training: Develop and deliver educational programs to cultivate a quality-focused culture among staff at all levels.

Collaboration: Partner with clinical leaders, department heads, and frontline staff to foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and patient satisfaction.

Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety and guide the organization in proactive risk management practices.

Board Reporting: Prepare regular reports for the Executive Leadership team and Board of Directors, showcasing quality performance metrics, initiatives, and strategic recommendations.Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Licenses or Certifications

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or other relevant quality certifications highly desired.

Education, Training, and Experience

Master's degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., MHA, MSN, MPH, MBA) or a clinical degree (e.g., MD, DO, RN) strongly preferred.

Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare quality management, with a proven track record in an inpatient hospital setting.

Skills and Abilities, Proficiency and Productivity Standards

Deep knowledge of quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA).

Expertise in healthcare regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices.

Proficiency in healthcare data management and statistical analysis tools.

Organizes and prioritizes tasks and projects, accurately completing job responsibilities within the specified time constraints.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Speaks and communicates English effectively in verbal and written format; writes legibly.

Reading and comprehension at the level necessary to perform job duties appropriately.

Works cooperatively with co-workers and other hospital employees

Functions proficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
