Primoris Industrial & Civil is seeking skilled Civil Carpenter Apprentices for a project in Hastings, Nebraska.

Project Duration: The project is expected to last until the end of the year.

Work Schedule: Five days a week, with 10-hour shifts daily (Mon to Fri), may work more, if needed

Qualifications: Candidates must successfully pass a craft test, drug screen, physical, and a background check to be considered for this position.

If you have experience with construction, installation and fabrication of form structures of wood, patent form systems, or a combination of both, and if you're committed to safety and quality, this opportunity could be a great fit for you! Additionally, the role qualifies for per diem when per diem requirements are met.

SUMMARY

The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs, fabricates, dismantles and repairs structures, formwork and fixtures of wood, metal forms and associated accessories.

JOB DUTIES

Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OSHA standards

Read and interpret drawings

Cut and shape materials, and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue

Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, the right size, shape, and location

Build and assemble concrete forms

Build and assemble shelters (for welding and other weather sensitive work)

Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings

May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) to four (4) years of experience as an Apprentice or Journeyman Carpenter

Must complete work accurately and follow all safety rules

Must be familiar with relevant hand and power tools

Able to work well in a team environment

Organized and self-motivated

Pre-employment alcohol, drug testing, and a background is a condition of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.

Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.

Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.

Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).

Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.

Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
