Role Overview
The Forklift Operator is responsible for assisting manufacturing with daily material handling activities.
The Forklift Operator reports to the department production manager/supervisor or designate. The role involves significant physical exertions such as moving up and down stairs, bending, lifting, carrying items, pushing and pulling, griping, etc. Safety is our # 1 priority.
Shift Premiums are provided for the required shift assigned. All applicants must be able to work the shifts outlined below:
Day Shift: 5:00 am to 1:30 pm - No Shift premium
Swing Shift: 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm - Shift premium
Night Shift: 9:00 pm to 5:30 am - Shift premium
Compensation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Work setting: In-person, on-site

Examples of Duties
Responsible for recording the transaction in the Shopfloor database, tagging production for accurate traceability
Perform unloading and loading activities with trucks/containers
Responsible for manufacturing scrap disposal and accurate recording of weights as
established by the department production manager/supervisor
Accountable for sustaining empty stands staging location
Must be a team player and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
Able to perform medium to heavy lifting
Able to drive forklift and perform loading and unloading activities
Perform other duties as required or assigned by the production manager/supervisor
What You'll Bring
Physically fit, able to lift 50lbs
Able to follow all safe work practices
Must have CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots with non-slip sole
Mechanically inclined is considered an asset
Able to follow direction
Good written and verbal communication skills
Access to a readily available vehicle is preferred
Previous manufacturing experience in an industrial environment is considered an asset
Sit-down forklift experience is considered an asset
