Job Description

Food Gallery Catering is a boutique catering company, catering events large and small throughout the Twin Cities. We are looking for passionate, fun, positive, and hard working servers to join our team. Catering is a fast paced environment - flexibility, great problem solving skills, a level head, and the ability to work gracefully under pressure are a must. In this position you’ll be a part of a service team responsible for the successful execution of catered events. This includes helping to load and unload catering equipment from a truck, helping to set up for events (setting tables as well as side-work tasks), butler passing appetizers, serving coursed meals, attending food stations, clearing and cleaning up after an event, and helping to reset and keep our space clean and organized, etc. Above and beyond the logistical elements of the position, we are most concerned with finding candidates who have a natural hospitality reflex - people who feel good when they’re making others feel good. As caterers we are a part of some of the biggest and most celebratory days in people’s lives - a server's job is not just to serve food, but to do so in a way that prioritizes a stellar guest experience above all.

Off-premise catering is a physical job and includes doing equipment "pulls" (gathering, organizing and transporting dishes, utensils, service equipment, glassware, etc.), loading and unloading trucks using a hydraulic lift, pushing and pulling carts of equipment and food, lifting loads of 25+ lbs, and being on your feet for potentially long shifts, among other tasks. Servers are scheduled on shifts from as few as 4-5 hours up to 10-12 hours and during our busiest seasons (summers when wedding business is at it's highest and the holiday season when holiday parties are frequent) we require that servers are available for at least 2 shifts per week and at least 3 out of 4 weekends each month. We currently have full time hours to offer (averaging 30+ per week) but can also be flexible with our scheduling for those looking for part time or second jobs. We prioritize a healthy work/life balance for our employees, and to that end we are closed on major holidays so that our staff have the opportunity to celebrate. Food is provided for staff on the majority of shifts. Server pay starts at $20/hour plus tips.
