This position is also eligible for performance/production bonus which has potential of total earnings of $150,000

Under the general director of the Manager of Operations, provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the individual quarry assigned with the objective of maximizing safety, production, efficiency, and profitability as well as day-to-day leadership and management of the team.

Haynes is seeking a knowledgeable Quarry Manager to be a leader who promotes safety, and efficiency with enthusiasum, urgency and timeliness.

Critical Duties and Responsibilities

Drives the operation by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objective, and policies.

Owns the responsibility for the safety of employees, equipment, and all plants

Provides direction and structure as well as establishes goals for the team under his direction.

Follows processes developed by senior management to operate in the most efficient manner possible.

Coordinates parts and repairs needed for the plant and the mobile

Facilitates drilling and blasting with current blasting company to ensure a constant inventory of raw material.

Provides oversight, mentoring and guidance to new and existing employees to foster an environment that focuses on forward thinking and company and process improvements.

Follows direction set by the Operations Manager.

Works to test quality control of all products produced weekly.

Works and communicates with sales staff to ensure correct inventory levels of products needed.

Responsible to make sure that all aspects of the quarry fall in compliance with rules and regulations of MSHA, DEEP, EPA and any other regulatory agencies.

Responsible to meet daily production rate goals.

Responsible for completion and submission of daily/weekly/monthly reports as required.

Responsible for weekly scheduling of employees.

Helps to develop and monitors an annual budget for the quarry.

Ability to manage aggregate stockpiles so as to make the site as efficient and effective as possible.

Skills

High standard of attention to detail

Highly motivated

Very strong safety record and understanding of safety best practices. MSHA & OSHA certifications a plus.

Solid commitment to customer and employee service

Ability to manage time and prioritize work.

Computer savvy and proficient at Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Possesses the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff.

Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Knowledge of ASTM/DOT standards of aggregates a plus.

Very organized with the ability to create plans and schedules, including two-week look-a-heads.

Seeks to further their professional development.

Provides mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees to foster an environment that focuses on forward thinking and company improvements
