Vendor Relations Specialist

Job Summary

The Vendor Relationship Specialist is responsible for developing and managing key components of the ABC Category Management process for a specific group of resale and non-resale suppliers. This includes establishing and maintaining vendor agreements, tracking and negotiating supplier rebates, and managing ABC Supplier Appreciation activities.

Job Responsibilities

Work with the Vice President of Merchandising to develop the components of the ABC Preferred & Approved Vendor Program. Track all key elements of the program and work with key suppliers and ABC Category Leadership to increase participation and success with all partners.

Develop relationships with assigned suppliers and be the key national ABC contact for these partners.

Drive value for ABC partners and branches by aligning opportunities for growth and partnership.

Actively promote ABC Supply as the best partner for key manufacturers

Work with partners to ensure that ABC Supply is the easiest customer to do business with.

Serve as a key point of contact for suppliers with ABC Marketing, IT, and other ABC teams. Establish business needs and align with supplier capabilities to support and grow ABC and partner’s business.

Lead the annual ABC Supplier Appreciation Event and work with suppliers on other regular points of engagement at ABC.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

Minimum 5+ years of vendor relationship management or similar roles.

Strong organization and process aptitude.

Excellent communication skills and a history of delivering results in a cross-functional organization.

Construction/Building Materials experience preferred.

Travel will be required for this position.
