Major Accountabilities Of Position:

Expectations

To provide HSE Leadership to the HSE teams based onsite and in offices across India

Be at the forefront to raise the profile of HSE across the country and deliver on global Worley, Asia and India HSE objectives

Provide technical expertise, guidance and advise to the business, work closely with site supervision and construction management to proactively fix issues, engage with all sites and office managers on a regular basis, develop and promote innovative campaigns to minimize harm to our people, assets, environment, and reputation. The Head of HSE is responsible for the coaching, counselling, and direction to the HSE team onsite and work closely with the Senior Construction Director, India operations in delivering our operations in a Safe and Sustainable way

Work closely with the Asia Assurance Director and endeavour to build relationships across regions, share best practices, lessons learnt and mentor other members in the Asia team

Key aims and objectives

- Deliver on the HSE Objectives for the region

- Embed our behaviours under our ‘Life’ value in all our operations

- Ensure that HSE Risks are determined and reduced to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable.

- Maintain positive relationships with Client Representatives and Project Management to ensure client and business needs are understood and achieved

- Support the cluster heads in India in delivering the expected level of HSE performance on offices and sites

- Bring the HSE team together and work as one team focused on a problem solving and collaborative approach

- Prime responsibilities and duties

- Liaise regularly with the cluster heads to advise and flag issues on projects and offices and develop solutions

- Embedding and deploying the aims of the Worley HSE Policy into all operations in India

- Embed our value of Life in all our work executed in offices and sites

- Guide HSE and Construction personnel on projects develop robust Project Execution Plan - HSE (To align with client HSE Plan requirement) and associated documentation in consultation with project stakeholders and ensure that the documentation provides the minimum HSE standards that all projects must meet.

- Assist projects in developing monitoring and delivering the HSE Assessment and Site Inspection Plan. Ensure compliance against agreed requirements

- Review project documentation (as per the document distribution matrix) to ensure adequate coverage of HSE considerations.

- Liaise with Risk Management to understand risks associated with the project, with a view to developing controls to mitigate against risk items

- Ensure all projects have a robust Subcontractor Management process

- Participate in project start up work (Good to Go & Kickoff Process) and ensure EPC contractors are clear on Worley’s HSE expectations as well as the customer HSE standards of work whilst ensuring responsibilities, objectives and targets are agreed and understood by all stakeholders.

- Develop and implement HSE awareness campaigns including the Worley ‘Life’ approach.

- Develop the India HSE Assurance (Audit and Review) plan and ensure the Assurance reviews are completed for the financial year.

- Ensure full compliance to the HSE Minimum Operating controls in all locations of work in India

KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Qualifications / Training

Essential:

Academic:

· Technically Qualified Professional – in HSE

· Degree in relevant subject – HSE (or equivalent such as an appropriate NEBOSH qualification - Diploma)

Professional:

· Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety / NEBOSH Diploma

· ISO 45001 Lead Auditor

Desirable:

Oil and Gas or other heavy industry related experience

Experience of working in India, Asia, International experience

Proven track record of implementation of HSE norms and principles at a senior management level

Pipeline construction experience, experience in working on both Brownfield and Greenfield projects

Previous experience with Worley projects

Experience

Essential:

15- 25 years major project experience – min

Setting up and deploying HSE systems in major projects start up and execution.

Understanding on execution of EPCM projects

Desirable:

Oil and Gas or other heavy industry related experience

Proven track record of implementation of HSE norms and principles at management level

Pipeline construction experience

Previous experience with Worley projects
