HOUSEKEEPING/LAUNDRY AIDE SCHEDULE: FULL - TIME 12PM - 8PM EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED
Betsy Ross nursing is searching for energetic, enthusiastic individuals to join the activities department. Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center is a 120-bed facility offering excellence in rehabilitation and skilled nursing care in a lovely homelike environment undergoing AN EXCITING LARGE-SCALE RENOVATION UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Housekeeping Aide is responsible for carrying out the duties of either Housekeeping and/or Laundry Departments which include, and are not limited to:
Housekeeping Aide will process all facility linen and resident’s personal linen and clothing
The prevention of unnecessary waste, loss of time and damage to resident’s belongings.
Housekeeping Aide maintains cleanliness of assigned areas throughout the facility.
Maintaining care of equipment and supplies.
Clean and service resident areas, baths, laboratories, educational facilities, corridors, utility rooms and beds.
Dust and damp floors, dust furniture and equipment, cleans windowsills, empties wastebaskets, arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
Housekeeping Aide scours and polishes bathtubs, sinks, mirrors and similar fixtures, polishes any metal objects.
Housekeeping Aide replenishes supplies of disinfectants, soaps and towels,
Keep storage areas in good order and arrange supplies.
Clean and disinfect beds, bed stands, utensils, sterilizers and wheelchairs.
Housekeeping Aide empties waste baskets, cleans and relines them.
Vacuums carpets, shampoos upholstered furniture, and dusts blinds.
Remove drapery and cubical curtains when needed.
Clean shower stalls, baths, water fountains, chute doors, fire extinguishers and stationary ice containers.
Collecting & sorting of all soiled linen as applicable
Loads washers & dryers according to directions
Washing of all linen; transfer washed/wet laundry to dryers; Drying of all washed items; emptying dryers
Folding linen; sorting & hanging of resident personal clothing
Stocks & covers linen carts & returns them to resident areas
Stock linen closets on various floors
Wipes out washers & dryers at end of shift with proper solutions
Leaves laundry area tidy at end of shift – any soiled linens are in covered containers & clean linens folded & placed in linen room
Replenishes supplies of disinfectants, soaps & towels
Keep storage areas in good order & arrange supplies
Empties waste baskets, cleans & relines them
Remove drapery & office curtains when neededRequirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Experience working in housekeeping or laundry preferred, but not required
Excellent customer service skills
Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff
Must have a working knowledge of housekeeping and laundry techniques
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required
