Environmental Field Laborer
$14/hour with pay progression opportunities and additional training.
Shift
As early as 6am through 3pm or when the assignments are complete; weekdays only.
Position Description: This entry level position provides support for all field service related cleaning and abatement activities.
Primary tasks include:
o Loading equipment to include all personal protective equipment on trucks for transfer to customer locations.
o Set up/take down of customer work area to prepare for cleaning activities. o Set up/take down of all equipment needed for on-site work activities. o All aspects of cleaning activities.
o Set up/take down of safety and monitoring equipment.
Major Areas of Responsibility
o Ensures health and safety is the number one goal and priority by following all policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all time.
o Performing work in enclosed areas (confined spaces).
o Ability to safely perform work using high pressure blasting equipment to clean heavy industrial equipment (pipe, boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, etc).
o Load hoses, chemicals and other equipment onto truck for assigned jobs.
o Clean up work area and equipment after work is completed. o assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps and general work area.
o Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer deadlines.
o Perform labor intensive activities in all weather conditions.
o Work in work environments with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights.
o Operates light and heavy equipment including; skid steers, forklifts and vacuum equipment.
o Performs emergency response activities, but not limited to chemical and waste spills, tank cleaning, hydro excavation, grease trap cleaning and equipment decontamination.
Primary Objectives
o Safely clean customer's equipment, vessels and work areas that exceed their expectations.
o ldentify opportunities to improve policies and procedures from a safety and work flow perspective.
o ldentify preventive maintenance needs/opportunities on all Mid-Atlantic equipment to reduce downtime and improve efficiency without compromising safety. o Seek customer feedback relative to cleaning related improvement opportunities.
o Provide input and perspective relative to solving customer related problems/issues that arise during the course of performing work activities.
Specific Responsibilities of the Job
o Pre-check equipment for safety and operational readiness prior to beginning any task.
o Pre-check all personal protective equipment prior to performing any work activity. Report any potential concerns/issues to manager if any personal protective equipment is compromised or needs repairs/replacement. o Post-check all personal protective equipment prior to performing any work activity. Report any potential concerns/issues to manager if any personal protective equipment is compromised or needs repairs/replacement.
o Set up/stage all cleaning equipment and materials at the direction of the manager necessary to perform a specific cleaning task or job.
o Complete all cleaning activities using the necessary personal protective equipment, cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
o Notify manager of any issues encountered or incomplete tasks resulting from equipment or tool failures.

Job Requirements
o Performing cleaning tasks wearing a Tyvak suit, gloves, respirator and other Personal Protective Equipment.
o Driving a company truck.
o OSHA training.
o CPR training.
o Customer specific safety training.
Education and Experience
o Previous experience working in an industrial environment is preferred.
o Previous experience requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment is preferred.
o High School or High School equivalency is preferred.
Physical Demands
o Standing on your feet all day.
o Performing demanding physical activities as part of daily job tasks.
o Lifting up to 50-100 pounds on a daily basis.
o Erecting scaffolding.
Work Environment
o lndustrial manufacturing locations that is dirty, hot and/or cold.
o Confined space such as boilers or other large tanks or vessels.
o Elevated platforms such as scaffolding.
