Job Summary
The Plumbing Manager is responsible for management activities and the developmental plans for the Plumbing department. This position is also responsible for following and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure the company fulfills its contractual obligations for Plumbing in accordance with quality, customer satisfaction, profit objectives, and directives. The Plumbing Manager is responsible for coordinating timely, quality Plumbing with the dispatcher and the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Supervise and lead Plumbing crew.
Directly responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, managing, and evaluating Plumbers.
Conduct jobsite visits with Plumbers and provide feedback.
Complete quality audits on selected Plumbing to ensure superior performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure all necessary permits are obtained.
Ensure the Plumbing crew has appropriate equipment and materials ready to go.
Communicate and monitor goals.
Manage workload and schedules to best utilize manpower and maximize profits.
Ensure Plumbers are being dispatched effectively.
Assist Plumbers with issues while in the field.
Facilitate weekly meetings.
Provide statistical and performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis to each team member, verbally and in writing.
Write and administer performance reviews for skill improvement.
Resolve customer issues or concerns to ensure complete satisfaction.
Ensure all Plumbing is carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and company requirements.
Ensure all team members comply with OSHA safety standards.
Harness a safety culture.
Provide feedback to managers regarding revenue opportunities, customer issues, and all issues relevant to the business.
Verify materials cost and stay current with price changes from suppliers to ensure that jobs are correctly costed, and margins and price integrity is maintained.
Manage and stay within departmental budget.
Achieve budgeted gross margin.
Meet or exceed all company goals.
Manage inventory, equipment and fleet.
Perform clerical duties and reporting.
Carry out additional duties assigned by the General Manager or Owner
Obey and teach the company Code of Ethics Team Rules and Team Philosophy.
One third of your time should be spent Recruiting the right Team Members, one third of your time should be spent Training those team members, and then the last One third should be spent Supervising, Administrating, and Motivating your team. Manage your time in these proportions and you will be a successful Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
P1 License
High School Diploma
Valid Driver’s License
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of current code requirements
Understanding of accounting and finance as it relates to the industry.
Water Treatment experience a Plus!
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands:
Climbing up and down ladders or stairs from time to time
Moderate lifting may be required (15-20) pounds.
Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day
Working Environment:
Exposure to extreme heat or cold may be required when working in the field.
Dress code is business casual.
