Job Description

Snelling is hiring for a Fortune 500 steel mill in the Birmingham area with an immediate opening for an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join their team. The Industrial Maintenance Electrician maintains all the equipment in the plant by showing proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing the equipment.

Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule!

$50,000-70,000, to start, depending on experience.

Job Duties for Industrial Maintenance Electrician:

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools, and knowledge to determine the root cause.

Troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and all high-voltage systems, keeping them all up to the site voltage maximums.

Inspect and perform daily maintenance on all shop machinery, mobile equipment, HVAC systems, PLC networks, and cranes.

Maintain a thorough and working knowledge/understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems/components and how they operate.

Use SAP maintenance module in the execution of duties, utilize computers to acquire information, and documentation, account for time, and corrective actions.

Work with related diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeter, paper recorder, multi-volt meter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment.

Must Haves for Industrial Maintenance Electrician:

Minimum 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

AC/DC troubleshooting experience is required.

Electrical controls maintenance and repair proficiency.

Knowledge of the melting, casting, and rolling process and related equipment preferred.

MRO System; SAP system experience preferred.

Able to understand electrical/electronic schematics.

Siemens and/or other PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.

Must have the experience with and the ability to demonstrate electrical and mechanical maintenance principles, concepts, and troubleshooting techniques including a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

NFPA 70E requirements preferred.

Must be willing to work rotating shifts which include weekends and holidays *no exceptions
