We are looking for dynamic and qualified Disability Support Workers from Western Melbourne surrounding areas to join our frontline services team.

What does a Typical Day Look Like?

Participants will be matched with you based on shared interests, providing an opportunity to support them in various activities. Whether it's accompanying them to swimming lessons, watching a football game together, or utilizing your culinary skills to contribute to their healthy eating and overall well-being, each day brings new and fulfilling experiences. This role is especially rewarding if you share common interests and are enthusiastic about helping NDIS clients achieve their personal goals.

About The Role

We are looking for Disability Support Workers who can make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities. Help them achieve their goals, enhance their community participation, and promote inclusivity.

Responsibilities:

• Empower customers to exercise personal choice, initiative, and self-expression

• Provide enjoyable and safe environments for participants

• Support individual interests, hobbies, and relationships

• Engage actively with participants, fostering personal growth

• Ensure privacy, dignity, and confidentiality

• Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration & transportation

• Handle administrative tasks with discretion and sensitivity

About YOU:

• Previous work experience in disability, aged care, home and community care or nursing

• Current National Police Record Check

• NDIS Worker Screening Check

• First Aid Certification

• CPR Certificate

• Experience in using a hoist

• Manual Handling Certificate

• Valid Victorian Working with Children Check and Driver's License.

• Availability for flexible working hours

• Availability to work a 7-day roster which will be a combination of shifts including mornings, afternoons, active night shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Basic computer literacy skills

· Australian Citizen and Residents only

• Valid Driver License and your own, reliable vehicle (compulsory)

• Access to a vehicle with comprehensive car insurance

Qualifications & experience

• Qualifications such as a Certificate III in individual Support (CHC3315), Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) (CHC33015) or Certificate IV in Disability (CHC43115).

• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination

• NDIS Orientation

• Previous work experience in aged care, disability, home and community care or nursing

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Daily Support in a way that is safe and enjoyable

• Medication prompting

• Personal care (toileting, and hygiene assistance)

• Helping with light domestic duties like household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation

• Grocery shopping with Participants

• Providing social support to Participants and helping them to engage in social or recreational activities

• Helping with disabilities to set and achieve their goals

• Providing Transport, attending appointments with the Participants

• Coordinating and implementing individual care plans in accordance with NDIS guidelines.
