Software Engineer

Job Title : Software Engineer - DevOps with Python

Key job functions include :

• Develop automated test scripts using python and basic knowledge on DevOps activity.

• Automation for Software Defined Storage platform

• Perform a role of team player in agile project.

• Create and document detailed story plans, adhering to agile methodologies.

• Prepare implementation Guides and other technical documents that is required by the project.

• Assist cross functional teams in troubleshooting and problem identification.

• Produce relevant communications / status reporting to stakeholders, scrum masters.

• Design and deliver reusable development modules as per project requirements.

• Excellent documentation skills in creating test procedures, workflows, diagrams, and customer facing white papers

• Possess the ability to work and communicate with the senior leadership team on deliverable status and progress.

• Manage and track project related issues and follow up until they are resolved.

Preferred skillset :

• Minimum 2-3 years of in-depth knowledge and hands on experience in Python scripting on Linux platform.

• Knowledge on Python framework like Logger, Django, swordfish, etc.

• Working knowledge in JSON, REST API call, CSV file processing etc.

• Experience in Version Control: Git/SVN

• Working knowledge in Linux Operating Systems.

• Ability to work independently, dealing with day-to-day problems with minimal oversight

• Basic knowledge on Database handling.

• A team player and fast technology adoption is a must.

Desirable skillset :

• Familiarity with enterprise storage products from Hitachi/IBM/HPE/Dell EMC/NetApp is a plus.

• Basic Knowledge on networking protocol like TCP/IP, SFTP, SSH, FTP, is a plus

• Basic knowledge on QA and storage interoperability testing.

• Competent in Python programming with experience in test automation and interfacing with REST APIs.

• Give technical presentations internally, and across different functional units.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills.

• 2-3 years of total work experience, preferred with storage domain knowledge.
