Job Details
We are currently seeking a dedicated, hands-on, self-starter with 3-5+ years of recent full public accounting experience to lead tax and accounting engagements at our firm. The ideal candidate will report directly to one of our Tax Managers and Tax Partners.
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for performing tax preparation, tax research, and planning with minimal supervision. This position will also work directly with clients and supervise and assist tax staff personnel with the preparation of tax returns and research.
Responsibilities
Prepare complex tax returns and perform tax research
Respond to tax notices from taxing authorities
Review tax info supplied by the client and meet with and/or contact the client regarding general or complex tax questions
Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues and make recommendations
Assist and supervise tax staff in the preparation of tax returns and research.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
3-5+ years of recent public accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA license preferred, but not required
Must be proficient in corporate, partnership, and individual tax return preparation and tax planning
Strong communication, organizational, analytical, client service, and PC skills
Ability to effectively juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prepare interim and annual financial statements.
Experience in managing multiple client engagements at the same time
Prior basic supervisory experience is preferred
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks is required
Lacerte tax software is preferred but not required
