Job Details
The Tax Manager Accountant is responsible for the management and review of tax preparation, tax research, and planning with minimal supervision. This position will also work directly with clients and supervise and assist tax staff personnel with the preparation of tax returns and research. This position will also work directly with Tax Partners on more complex tax returns and planning.
Responsibilities:
Manage the workflow and review of tax returns and perform tax research
Preparation and review of complex and multi-state tax returns.
Respond to tax notices from taxing authorities
Review tax info supplied by the client and meet with and/or contact the client regarding general or complex tax questions
Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues and make recommendations
Assist and supervise tax staff in the preparation of tax returns and research.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
5+ years of prior public accounting experience
CPA certified a must
Supervisory experience is a must
Possess integrity, be trustworthy, dependable, and a team player
Excellent communication skills – oral, written, and interpersonal
Strong client handling and engagement skills
Must be proficient in corporate, partnership, and individual tax return preparation and tax planning
Ability to review interim and annual financial statements
Experience in managing multiple client engagements at the same time
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks is required
Lacerte tax software is preferred but not required
