Senior Android Engineer

One of the largest Media companies in the U.S. is looking to hire a Senior Android Engineer to join the team for the next 6 months+. You will be primarily responsible for greenfield development on their FireTV application team and contribute to the re-architecture of the digital experience that millions of users interact with daily.

To succeed in this role, you must have a background in Android, Kotlin. The majority of the team is offshore and only have a few hours of crossover with the U.S. team per day, so the ideal candidate will have the ability to work autonomously without much support. For that reason, extensive knowledge of the tech stack is also key.

Responsibilities

Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code

Build slick user-facing features using Kotlin

Complete tickets promptly and add value to the larger project weekly

Support test and deployment of new products and feature

Qualifications

Hands-on development in Kotlin using Android TV “leanback” library, Including RowPresenters, Item Presenters

Experience with Kotlin Jetpack components - Coroutines, Flows & LiveData

Kotlin threading concepts with Coroutines, Coroutine context and scope

Knowledge of Android Architectures like MVVM and MVP

Proven track record of working at pace and adding value quickly

Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
