Infrastructure Architect

DESCRIPTION

The Infrastructure Architect will lead the design and implementation or enhancement of information systems that addressbusiness requirements and support the architecture design and direction. The Infrastructure Architect works with the Director of IT Operations to prescribe the necessary technical infrastructure for development of new solutions in either on-prem, hybrid, or dedicated cloud environments. The Infrastructure Architect assures that solutions can be implemented across multiple cloud, hybrid setups and on-prem environments and that data authentication, encryption and authorization security requirements are addressed by baseline data and applications infrastructure patterns. The Infrastructure Architect will maintain a detailed view of infrastructure environments including network designs, infrastructure setups, initial run books and security domains, in on-prem, hybrid, or dedicated cloud environments. The Infrastructure Architect will participate in the development and adoption by the Enterprise Architecture Framework, including defining processes, standards and best practices, and maintaining proficiency in chosen governance tools (i.e. Alfabet, ARIS, ServiceNOW, Smartsheet, Azure DevOPS).

Principal Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Define and maintain the Infrastructure Architecture Strategy (on-prem and cloud) that is in accordance with IT and business, data, and applications segment architecture strategy

Contribute to the Operations Management, Enterprise Architecture, and managed services provider (vendor) teams in defining and maintaining the infrastructure baseline

Be accountable to senior management for the accuracy of the infrastructure architecture baseline as documented using architecture tools (Alfabet, ARIS or similar)

Lead the infrastructure architecture strategy and design efforts associated with all implementation or enhancement initiatives

Perform infrastructure architecture feasibility in support of overall solution/application architecture feasibility assessments. Ensure propositions are compatible with existing and 3rd party SaaS solutions and work with offshore environments to which solutions are integrated.

Accountable for the creation and maintenance of infrastructure architecture diagram descriptions documentation and templates of information using approved EA tooling

Present infrastructure architecture designs in an understandable manner to both business and IT stakeholders and in a way that operations (and managed services providers) can implement and support

Work with the Enterprise Architecture team to help lead proofs of concept or studies to support new business and IT initiatives

Accountable for the TO-BE infrastructure architecture propositions for new business initiatives and their attendant IT projects

Ensure implemented infrastructure architectures meet agreements regarding zero-trust protection and authentication/encryption/authorization of data and data tagging

Responsible for resolution and root cause analysis acting as Tier 3 Level Support in systems and network environments, working with the IT Operations team.

Lead the continuous improvement efforts within the IS Architecture group through developing and sharing deep expertise in particular subject areas

Monitor infrastructure technology trends, particularly in the areas of cross-cloud API management, scaling (Azure) cloud resources COST EFFECTIVELY, regularly brief senior management on possible new technologies or infrastructure architecture designs

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Information Systems or similar field.

Knowledge of systems/network administration/implementation and design to include LAN/WAN/SDWAN connectivity, remote authentication/encryption for access using VPN or similar solutions, platform engineering, synergies in proprietary systems, lifecycle management, documentation, secure communication, security/AV/Malware systems and meeting compliance standards.

Ability to build and implement Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and other Microsoft/Linux services and systems designed and create successful management of these systems

Creation and design of solutions for patching, update and inventory management to assure enterprise applications and systems are patched and secured as needed across all systems and applications used in the organization.

10+ years of experience in IT environments with demonstrated experience in infrastructure designsupporting ERP, PLM, CRM systems, etc., exposure with business intelligence and data analytics (Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, etc.) and proven large system/network implementations.

3+ years of experience working as an Infrastructure Architect) with strong experience in architecting IT systems or a combination of with proven architected solutions.

Demonstrated experience in infrastructure architectures, on-prem, hybrid and in the cloud (particularly Azure) as it relates to the potential and the limitations of all aspects of information technology including but not limited to infrastructure, security, data management and development

Experience in successful large system migrations and upgrades involving multiple interfacing systems

Demonstrated proficiency in architectural design principles through leveraging ITIL based methodologies and industry standards and best practices

Excellent written and verbal communication skills when presenting solutions design and implementation to a variety of stakeholders (technical, functional, management)

Highly organized and self-motivated with a focus on technology integration, system and process efficiency, maximized solution supportability and fiscal management effectiveness

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

TOGAF certification CCNA or other related Cisco Certifications

Microsoft MCSA/MCITP or related Microsoft Certifications

Cloud platform certifications in AWS or Azure

Experience with Linux/Unix flavors of systems

Experience with Nutanix or similar HCI infrastructure

Scripting and management experience for enterprise deployment solutions

Experience in Cybersecurity, Security awareness

Experience in manufacturing or aeronautic manufacturing environments across multiple sites in multiple states and countries

Must haves:
