Travel is rare for this position however out-of-state and international travel may be assigned to meet with customers.

Overview

Our client, a leading provider of solutions in the design and manufacture of technologically sophisticated aerospace defense systems. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset with a focus on manufacturing and quality assurance. This role involves analyzing faults, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with ISO quality management certifications, particularly AS9100 and NADCAP. While automation is limited, the candidate should be proficient in manual manufacturing processes and possess a deep understanding of quality control methodologies.

Responsibilities

Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance product quality and efficiency.

Investigate and analyze product or process failures, non-conformities, and deviations to determine root causes and develop effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

Develop and implement quality control procedures, inspection plans, and testing protocols to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Conduct internal audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality management systems, including AS9100 and NADCAP certifications.

Provide technical guidance and training to manufacturing personnel on quality standards, processes, and procedures.

Interface with customers and suppliers to address quality-related concerns, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Participate in the development and validation of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and products to meet quality objectives.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, corrective action plans, and quality metrics.

Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in aerospace quality management to ensure adherence to the latest standards and requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.

Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP.

Experience with root cause analysis techniques such as 8D, Fishbone (Ishikawa), or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Proficiency in manual manufacturing processes and techniques, with a focus on quality control and inspection.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex quality issues.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience conducting internal audits and assessments, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar credentials preferred.

Familiarity with aerospace regulations and standards, such as FAA regulations, MIL-STDs, and customer-specific requirements.
