Professional Land Surveyor/Survey Manager
One of our top Civil Engineering clients is looking for a highly motivated and energetic North Carolina Licensed Professional Land Surveyor to assist with the day to day operations of our survey department. The company current runs three full time survey crews, and needs assistance with the compiling and base mapping of survey data, generating staking calculations, preparing record plat maps, preparing ALTA surveys, preparing boundary surveys, topographic surveys, preparing loan maps, and other related functions. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to multitask as required.
PLS in North Carolina or the ability to transfer/obtain from another state in a very short amount of time.
3 – 5 years’ experience
Proficient in survey computations
Proficient in office and field procedures
Perform quality control of all survey documents, including survey plans, record plats, ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, deed searches, boundary surveys, topographic surveys and review of title commitment reports
Assist with direction and monitoring of multiple survey crews
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with the use of Conventional, robotic and GPS survey and data collection equipment
Knowledge of practices and principles used in land surveying and civil engineering; ability to identify potential conflicts and issues
Knowledge of workplace safety and site safety principles
Experience in subdivision design and associated surveying requirements for design and construction staking
Experience with municipal utility infrastructure projects and associated surveying requirements for design and construction staking
Able to prioritize and multi-task numerous survey projects
Excellent time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have valid drivers’ license

The staff currently includes four Professional Engineers and four licensed Professional Land Surveyors with a combined 175 years of engineering and land surveying experience.
Principals of the firm are registered in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
