Linux System Administrator - overnight shift

Our client, a leader in software and technology for aerospace, space, defence, security and transportation markets is hiring a Linux System Administrator to join their 2nd or 3rd shift in Reston, VA.

This candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

As a Linux System Administrator, you will monitor, maintain, and administer hardware/software/configurations across multiple environments to ensure high availability and peak performance. You will update shift logs, assist with Operation System patching/upgrades, perform data backups and diagnostics, utilize the command line for troubleshooting, and repair and restore systems to normal processing. In addition, you must have experience with monitoring; software problem-solving; phone support during problem resolution; and disaster recovery operations.

Requirements:

Obtain and maintain a public trust clearance for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Commit to 2nd or overnight shift

3+ years of system administration experience in a highly secure, Linux/Unix environment

Command line Interface, CLI

Linux monitoring tools

Bash patching and scripting

Excellent communications skills, oral and written.
