Senior R&D Rubber Scientist

Our client is a top-tier manufacturer of high-quality building materials. They're seeking a full-time Senior/Principal R&D Rubber Scientist based in Carlisle, PA, offering relocation assistance if needed.

The Research and Innovation team is dedicated to pioneering breakthrough technologies for the rubber roofing industry. The research scientist will collaborate closely with partners and leaders to advance technology for sustainable EPDM roofing membranes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead research on new and existing products, and implement new technologies.

Manage multiple innovation projects crucial for rubber roofing business growth.

Use advanced material characterization techniques to understand polymer properties.

Oversee projects from idea to commercialization.

Support rubber roofing business through product development, processing, and performance enhancement.

Collaborate with various departments on project priorities and future directions.

Publish technical reports, conduct presentations, and ensure safety.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Polymer Science, Material Science, or Chemistry.

Senior: 2+ years of experience in rubber product development and processing

Principal: 10+ years of experience in rubber product development and processing

Strong understanding of polymer behavior and analysis techniques.

Experience with FTIR, DSC, TGA, and rheology analysis.

Project management skills and effective communication.
