Senior QA Automation Engineer

12 Month Contract (Possible extension or Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Hybrid/ 2-3 Days per week (Client located in Pleasanton, CA)

Job Description

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for in software writing and executing test cases to verify the functionality of software and must be adept at finding bugs. You’ll need a high level of understanding of software development and different ways to test components in a range of scenarios. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

Collaborate with colleagues in a team environment.

Design and execute test plans for individual pieces of software and systems.

Ensure the functionality of applications and verify that they match the specifications.

Monitor logs to prevent confidential credentials from being exposed.

Identify and report bugs for developers to fix.

Assist developers in recreating bugs.

Provide suggestions to enhance different systems or software.

Required Skills

At least 3 years’ Background in mobile app development iOS and/or Android.

Strong programming fundamentals.

Ability to conduct usability tests and empathize with users’ unique perspectives.

Self-starter who takes responsibility for their work.

Open to feedback and willing to contribute to turning good ideas into reality.

Experience with Jira or any other bug tracking tools (Preferred)

Experience with Agile methodology and working in Scrum teams.

Experience in mobile and/or OTT testing.

Experience in analyzing various types and causes of defects (API vs Client).

Understanding of Software Development life cycle and Software Testing life cycle.

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

Background in functional testing with the ability to identify test cases that are optimal candidates for automation.

Working knowledge of Xcode and test automation tools.

Knowledge of various streaming technologies and services.

EDUCATION

BA/BS in computer science or related technical field.
