The Data Analyst will be the technical expert who assembles datasets and data sources from various sources, databases, files, document repositories, etc. in response to business needs. Curates datasets and data sources that are clean, complete, and accurate. Performs analyses to answer business questions and presents results. Builds dashboards and visualizations to support business operations. Administers the Tableau Server. Identifies, designs, and implements new and improved data structures and data sources for use in the enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the design and development of advanced analytics models and reporting tools.

Translate complex data into actionable insights for various stakeholders, including executives.

Collaborate with business units, IT, and other departments to identify analytics opportunities that align with business objectives.

Contribute to defining, implementing, and maintaining best practices around data source development and data structure.

Identify/Anticipate data-related issues based on knowledge of business trends and propose solutions.

Ensure projects are well documented.

Expert individual contributor knowledge base to develop, update, and tune queries and data extraction methods.

Design, develop, and test Tableau dashboards and data sources.

Identify data integrity issues in existing and proposed systems and system changes.

Anticipate system and data issues based on knowledge of business trends and propose direction and solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, math, or related field.

Excellent written skills are highly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to compose and maintain SQL queries.

Demonstrated expertise in implementation and maintenance of best practices in data visualization and data architecture.

Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis using Excel or other enterprise tools.

Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Tableau Public portfolio demonstrating an equivalent level of experience.

Experience with SCADA systems if preferred, but not required.

Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning applications and/or concepts preferred but not required

Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and data structure.

Demonstrated ability to communicate findings, issues, and recommendations to all levels of customers, both internal and external.

Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
