The Technical Content Author will be responsible for building industry-changing 3D Extended Reality (XR) experiences for the manufacturing and maintenance of high-performance vehicles, as well as training for a next generation of the Aerospace/Defense technical hands-on workforce.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop an inside-out knowledge of selected mixed reality knowledge platforms, with particular emphasis on the creation and deployment of XR instructions.

• Create project plans, wireframes, prototypes, and visual resources to support the creation of 3D XR content.

• Work directly with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and end users to define and develop instructional AR content tailored to each use case.

• Work directly with end users to define requirements and capture their vision in the design and development of best-in-class instructional XR content.

• Support projects with 3D tools and design software, including modeling and conversion optimization.

• Deploy, test, and refine XR applications to ensure they meet user needs and work effectively on different platforms and devices.

• Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.

• Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.

• Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.

• Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

• Experience in CAD and/or 3D content creation, 3D animation and /or modelling required.

• Ability to read and understand 3D solid models, assemblies, and maintenance procedures within the domain of aerospace product design, manufacturing, or maintenance.

• Basic image manipulation and basic video editing is required.

• Experience in developing and creating mixed reality content, including object alignment and tracking, is preferred.

• Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine.

• Experience with modern programming languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and PHP is a plus.

• An understanding of interconnected sensor architecture (MQTT, IoT, JSON) is a plus.

• Proven ability to engage with internal/external customers to enable positive business outcomes.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, Outlook.

• Self-directed and curious technical artist who works well with a variety of technologies and teams.

• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work in an agile, fast paced environment with strong task orientation and attention to critical details is required.

• Proficiency to read, write, speak, and understand English.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, video game design, engineering, or related field.

• 5 years of experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.

• Work primarily performed in a standard office environment. If in manufacturing areas, may be exposed to noise, smells, heat, dust, etc. Work requires the observance of fire regulations and safe work practices.

• This position is onsite at our Carson City location.
