Since 1977 we have been a leading independent industrial distributor of mechanical power transmission, conveyor belt, and electrical control products in Kentucky.
Industrial Belting & Transmission is looking for an tech-savvy Outside Sales Representative to join our team. Responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of product parts, functions, and processes and assisting to close sales where technical expertise may be required to fit clients’ needs. Travel is required for this position, and a company vehicle will be provided for commuting.
Job Duties:
Meet with costumers to have an in-depth knowledge of processes, products used, application of products, condition of products, and contact technical support personnel.
Create a personal working relationship with customers to understand opportunities to create solutions with the products we sell or want to initiate sales with.
Forecast for future usage, inventory controls and support accounting for cash-flow.
Provide competitive information on pricing, barriers for entry, and know what the competition is offering.
Set up Vendor/Salesperson sales calls
Assist in quote request for special buy-out products
Sell, and create purchase orders and ship to customers.
Perform site visits for product knowledge and application verification.
Build relationships and gain familiarity with end users
Build an understanding of customer knowledge, wants and needs
Directly take quote requests, quoting/estimating, taking orders, processing orders and customer follow up.
Assist sales team with processing orders for large accounts/large orders
Assist in expediting of orders.
Communicate with management and Inside Sales on needs and expectations to support them.
Participate in logging calls and weekly activities.
Research, develop, and modify products to meet customer technical requirements and needs
Travel includes customer site visits, project kick-offs, installation support and engineering support.
Requirements:
Experience in sales and technology field
Strong interpersonal communication, customer services and sales skills
Ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
Good leadership and teamworking skills.
Willingness to continue your sales education
Strong understanding of engineering principles and structural design.
High proficiencies in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Work, and mastery of professional writing skills.
